The party has entrusted Mumbai MLAs, corporators and other office-bearers with responsibility for various Lok Sabha constituencies. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has begun preparations for the 2029 elections, with responsibilities finalised for constituencies across the state, except for Mumbai’s six Lok Sabha constituencies, Thane and Jalgaon.
The Lok Sabha Samparkpramukh appointments announced by the Shiv Sena (UBT) include Varun Sardesai for Kalyan and Bhiwandi; Sunil Shinde for Shirdi-Ahilyanagar; Nitin Banugade-Patil for Satara and Sangli; Ashish Chemburkar for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar; Kiran Tawde for Shirur; and Sachin Padwal for Pune district.
Sushma Andhare has been assigned Solapur and Madha, while Ravindra Mirlekar will oversee Nashik and Dindori. For Buldhana, the responsibility has been given to Nitin Deshmukh and Narendra Khedekar. Akola has been assigned to Nitin Deshmukh and Nilesh Ghumal, while Amravati has been assigned to Nitin Deshmukh and Dr Kishor Thackeray.
Babanrao Thorat has been appointed for Hingoli, Arun Dudhwadkar for Kolhapur, Sanjay Sawant for Baramati, Ashok Dhatrak for Dhule, Gulabrao Wagh for Raver and Mukesh Salunke for Nandurbar.
Pradeep Borikar has been given responsibility for Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg. Sanjay Manaji Kadam has been appointed for Raigad, excluding the Pen Assembly constituency, while Prasad Bhoir has been assigned Maval, including the Pen Assembly constituency. Vilas Potnis has been appointed for Palghar.
Uday Dhalvi has been assigned Satara, Swapnil Kunjir Sangli, and Mahendra Indulkar Hatkanangale. Sunil Waman Patil has been appointed for Jalna, Sunil Katmore for Dharashiv, Kishor Potdar for Nanded and Pradeepkumar Khopde for Parbhani.
Parmeshwar Satpute has been given responsibility for Latur, Ashok Sakpal for Beed, and Dilip Jadhav for Yavatmal-Washim. Sudhir Suryawanshi has been appointed for Wardha, Satish Harde for Nagpur and Suresh Sawant for Ramtek.
Mahesh Kedari has been assigned Gadchiroli-Chimur, Prashant Kadam Chandrapur, and Raju Patil Bhandara-Gondia.
The appointments come as the Uddhav Thackeray-led party begins its organisational preparations with the 2029 Lok Sabha elections in focus. The allocation of responsibilities to party leaders across several constituencies marks the beginning of constituency-level preparations.
Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray launched a sharp attack on the government while extending his full support to the students’ agitation. He said that after the confusion surrounding the NEET examination and the gathering of Abhijit Dipke and others at Jantar Mantar, he felt that Shiv Sena was the first political party to openly support the protesting students.
Thackeray also raised questions over the MPSC controversy and asked whose resignation should be sought. He questioned whether taking one minister’s resignation would mean that the resignation of someone else should be sought in another case. He said that the approach should not be that once one person has resigned, “my number has come next.”
Targeting what he described as the politics of breaking parties and leaders, Thackeray said that question papers are leaked amid such politics. Referring to MLAs who have split away and travelled to Surat and Guwahati, he questioned where they should go and whom they should approach for justice.
Thackeray further criticised those who themselves had broken away, asking what kind of administration could be expected from people with such a “broken mindset.” His remarks came amid the Shiv Sena (UBT)’s preparations and organisational appointments ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
